Meaning of the IWA Dojo Logo

 

 

·       Green coloring for the “Ti” kanji and lettering represents “Harmony & Growth”  (I was originally undecided on this color selection, but my decision was solidified after meeting an impressive Karate-obsessed young Sensei in Arizona that uses green for his logo to represent growth and lifeJ)

 

·       Intersecting white lines have two meanings: 1st It represents a crossroads, the possibility of a practitioner needing to make a courageous or critical decision in their journey, 2nd It also represents crossing arms or hands, which we choose to symbolize the practice of old school Tegumi or grappling hands

  

·       Purple is the color of warriors and symbolizes nobility, which in our martial art’s lineage refers to Master Chotoku Kyan’s family connection to the monarchy of Ryukyu 

  

·       Black represents mystery, power, elegance, strength, and sophistication
